Sterzing

The Alpine town with the sunny Monte Cavallo/Rosskopf hill combines nature and flair in the best possible way. After a day of skiing in the mountains around Sterzing, there is nothing better than stopping by the Christmas market in the old town. Stop at a small café, treat yourself to a cappuccino or an ice cream, look up at the Zwölferturm clock tower and enjoy yourself. Sounds like a perfect day in Sterzing, don’t you think?

Brixen

Brixen, the bishop’s town, enchants with its cathedral. Its two towers watch over the town and are visible from afar. The Giardino di Corte/Hofgarten and the Cantina dell’Abbazia di Novacella/Stiftskellerei Neustift wine estate invite you to take your time and enjoy yourself.

Klausen

Klausen is South Tyrol’s artists’ town. The small alleys, the wonderful house facades and the fresh smell of roasted chestnuts in autumn make Klausen and the Sabiona/Säben Abbey a wonderful half-day excursion.

Cascate di Stanghe/Gilfenklamm gorge

A hike through the Cascate di Stanghe/Gilfenklamm gorge is a highlight for families, seniors, and nature lovers. Here, the water thunders and roars, bubbles, and foams. Wooden platforms and bridges lead you toward the waterfall. The once pure white marble is your steadfast companion through the entire gorge, with soaring rock faces towering up left and right. It’s simply wonderful!

Tasso/Reifenstein Castle

Tasso/Reifenstein Castle near Sterzing is well-protected and enthroned on a rocky hill in the municipality of Freienfeld. During a visit, you can admire the original castle kitchen, the bathing room, medieval bunks in the residential tower, the traditional panelled parlour (Stube), the famous green hall, and much more. Enjoy a journey into the past!

Mining World Ridnaun Schneeberg

A visit to the mine in Ridnaun is an exciting journey through time for the whole family. Here, 150 years ago, a state-of-the-art ore processing facility was built. Personal objects and private photographs are contemporary witnesses of the mining tradition. During a visit, you can witness the entire production process thanks to the still-functioning machines.

Wolfsthurn Castle

Wolfsthurn Castle is the South Tyrolean National Museum of Hunting and Fishing. It sits enthroned on a hill above Mareit near Sterzing and displays all the splendour of the Baroque period. Many say it is the most beautiful castle in Tyrol. Whether or not that’s true, we’ll let you decide!
